Residents deserve to feel safe in their homes, neighborhoods, and stores, with professional local law enforcement.
I want Bowie to maintain a high bar for police and dispatch recruitment and training, with a focus on proactive community engagement, transparent communication, and an emphasis on deterrence.
I have consistently fought to preserve green and open space and successfully stopped sprawl development projects at White Marsh, the Bowie Race Track, and the Rockledge Montessori property.
I will continue protect green space while focusing on redeveloping older commercial centers intended to serve as the city's economic engines.
Outdated rules limit where speed humps, stop signs, and traffic cameras can go. We do endless traffic studies, but solutions never get implemented.
I’ve fought to expand the city’s speed safety program and will work to update traffic safety rules, focus on areas with high speed complaints, and make it easier to install traffic solutions with resident support.
Slow permitting, excessive red tape, and a shrinking worker pool drive local businesses to close or move to other counties.
As Mayor, I will be a resource to brick and mortar stores struggling through red tape, partner with local employment centers to connect workers to available jobs, and work with trade associations and business incubators to support local entrepreneurs.
Too many people treat our roads and highways like dumping grounds. Bowie residents deserve clean streets and public spaces.
I will work to clearly publicize littering fines, support volunteer efforts to clean up local neighborhoods, and work with State Highway and County Public Works to target areas with frequent trash.
With careful budgeting and dependable support from higher levels of government, Bowie built its own police department and expanded its public works services while maintaining a consistent tax rate for fourteen years.
Today, fewer federal, state, and county dollars flow to local services. Bowie is having to do more. We face tough choices ahead and need leadership that communicates honestly and clearly as we navigate challenging future budgets.
I'm one of the few local leaders who never accepts contributions from developers or special interests. My campaigns are 100% resident-funded so I can make decisions that put residents first.
Resident support is always welcome online here.
