I'm a lifelong Bowie resident, raised by a Prince George's County Public School teacher and a U.S. Army officer.
I graduated from DeMatha and Loyola University Maryland, am a proud Eagle Scout, and longtime Wounded Warrior Project, University of Maryland Medical System, and Special Olympics volunteer.
I started working in local politics at age 15 for State Senator Douglas J.J. Peters and have been involved in public service ever since.
After college, I worked as a loan officer serving families and small businesses in and around Bowie. I was elected to the City Council in 2015 and moved into the non-profit sector during the day, working for a group that advocates for kids and adults with intellectual disabilities. Most recently, I served as Deputy Communications Director for a large state agency.
In 2015, I was elected the youngest member of the Bowie City Council. In my 10 years serving District 1, I never missed a meeting or vote, and with my council colleagues led the work to:
✓ Improve city communications
✓ Preserve hundreds of acres of green space
✓ Stop a Maglev displacing Bowie neighborhoods
✓ Establish new local parks and trails
✓ Pilot a safe streets program to fight speeding
✓ Keep our tax rate flat
✓ Protect Bowie's AAA bond rating
Too many towns have watched their taxes go up and their quality of life go down. Without clear focus, cities are left with broken services, pothole-filled roads, and desirable businesses leaving.
I have the energy and experience to tackle challenges and make Bowie a place where everyone:
⇾ Feels safe in their homes
⇾ Can count on their local services
⇾ Enjoys better restaurants and stores
This work can't happen alone. I want to hear your ideas on how we can build a better Bowie together. Contact me here.
